The Henderson County Retired School Personnel Association opened its September meeting with members rolling out a barrel as they sang “Roll Out The barrel” and “The More We Get Together” while the group joined in. A potluck luncheon followed. Malakoff Elementary Principal Ronnie Snow talked to the group about important upcoming education matters from the state legislature. Finally, a memorial service was held for eight members who passed away this passed year. The next meeting will be October 11 at the First United Methodist Church of Athens at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
