Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

On Wednesday, May 18, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Investigators Kay Langford and Brad Beddingfield conducted a traffic stop on Highway 334 in Gun Barrel City for a traffic violation.

During a search of the vehicle Mitchell Morgan, a passenger, was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics. Mitchell was arrested and taken to the Henderson County Jail where he was booked in for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 less than 1 gram.

If convicted of the State Jail Felony charge Mitchell could face up to two years in a State Jail Facility and up to a $10,000 fine.

Morgan was arraigned by Henderson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Randy Daniel. Judge Daniel set bail at $8,500. Morgan remains in custody at the time of this release.
