Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said Monday a deputy arrested two women just after midnight Saturday with suspected methamphetamines in downtown Athens.
“Deputy Brian Huckabee did a great job, pulled over a blue pickup with expired registration in the dark of the night and caught some folks with bad stuff,” Hillhouse said. “He deserves our thanks for getting these people off the streets.”
Dedra Crocker, the driver of the blue Ford F-150 was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
Deputy Huckabee arrested her and passenger Julie Pohlenz after he found the methamphetamines and two clear zip lock baggies containing a crystal-like substance.
“Illegal drugs in any amount, no matter how great or small, will not be tolerated under my watch,” Hillhouse said.
Since taking office earlier this month, Hillhouse has led drug raids across the County, arrested eight people one night, and now bringing the total of felony drug busts to 15.
“These raids and arrests will not stop as long as people think they can deal or use illegal drugs in this county,” he said.
